Synopsis

Molecular Spectroscopy: Principles, Techniques and Applications is intended to provide a clear and comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles, instrumental techniques, and practical applications of molecular spectroscopy. Spectroscopy is an essential area of modern chemistry that provides valuable information about molecular structure, composition, bonding, and interactions.

This book presents the basic concepts of molecular spectroscopy in a systematic and accessible manner, covering important spectroscopic techniques such as ultraviolet-visible (UV-Visible), infrared (IR), Raman, and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The fundamental principles, instrumentation, spectral interpretation, and applications of these techniques are discussed to help readers develop both theoretical understanding and practical insight.

The book has been designed to bridge the gap between fundamental concepts and their applications in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, materials science, and related disciplines. Emphasis has been placed on clear explanations, relevant examples, and important applications to make the subject easier to understand for students and useful for researchers and academicians.

With the rapid advancement of analytical and spectroscopic techniques, molecular spectroscopy continues to play a vital role in research, pharmaceutical analysis, structural elucidation, quality control, environmental studies, and the characterization of chemical and biological systems. A sound understanding of these techniques is therefore essential for students and professionals working in the molecular sciences.

It is hoped that this book will serve as a useful academic and reference resource for undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers, teachers, academicians, and professionals. The authors/editors sincerely hope that the contents of this volume will encourage readers to explore the fascinating world of molecular spectroscopy and contribute to further learning, research, and scientific advancement.
